Laura’s license as an Enrolled Agent (EA) means that she has earned the highest credential the IRS awards. Like attorneys and CPAs, EAs have unlimited practice rights before the IRS and state tax authorities. Unlike attorneys and CPAs however, which are licensed by their respective state(s), EAs are licensed directly by the federal government and can represent a taxpayer in any state. 

Her vast knowledge and relational approach to engaging her clients is modeled in her team members, and she prides herself on establishing trust-based relationships—both personally and professionally. At the office, you can find Laura serving her clients and encouraging her team as they provide excellence in accounting services.

Laura Phillips, E.A. is the Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of The Phillips Group, a healthcare-focused and technology-driven accounting, tax, and advisory firm based in Orange County, CA, and with clients across the United States.

Laura began her career as an entry-level staff accountant for a small local accounting firm. She worked for 15 years and quickly rose through the ranks of senior accountant, accounting manager and then accounting & tax manager – all while specializing almost exclusively in healthcare – before finally founding The Phillips Group with her husband Andrew, who serves as its Chief Growth Officer.
